The 2011 Capitol Christmas Tree is lit on Monday December 5, 2011, during light testing for tomorrow night's lighting ceremony. The tree is a 65-foot Sierra white fir — is from California’s Stanislaus National Forest. It was lit on Tuesday December 6, 2011 on the West Front Lawn of the Capitol Building and will be lit from night fall until 11 p.m. each evening through Sunday January 1, 2012.
